Gain in particular a deeper understanding of what internationalization means for Japan, and of international society centered on East Asia. Business Internship I (domestic) / II (international) are also available for students to, first, gain linguistic ability, as well as enhance their understanding of different cultures and cultivate international sensibilities. HUE fosters inter-cultural understanding and global-minded people sensitive to the needs of, and able to play a role in, not only business, but governmental, NGO, and NPO affairs as well.
The curriculum of the Department for the study of Regional Economics covers more than just economics. Its scope embraces the societies and cultures of various regions in Asia, America, and Oceania. Part of the course features acquisition of linguistic skills, combined with a 2-3 week overseas experience and an internship program at companies both in and outside of Japan. Practical training at a Japanese company takes place in the second year, followed by work experience at an overseas company in the third year.
The curriculum develops what it takes to be a global actor through a rich engagement with economics, society, culture, language and history.
